The United States Census Bureau office project is a temporary space used for the collection of US census data. OW3 was contracted by the landlord to coordinate with various government agencies and the landlord to complete the design and contract documents. The project goal was to reuse as much as possible from the previous tenant, while bringing the space up to current Building Code Standards for the new tenant, the Census Bureau.
This project’s biggest challenge was the budget. Working within this constraint, OW3 was able to reconfigure the space while only removing a few of the existing walls and reusing the remainder of the existing space plan. We were able to economically reconfigure the existing toilet rooms while meeting current handicapped accessibility regulations without removing any existing fixtures.
